When told his family had been selected as the 2009 Family of the Year this was Mike’s response:

"Thanks to you and your committee is an understatement to say the least.  I am so proud of my family and the support they have given me over the years in so many ways.  This is the kind of blessing I can share with them as they will be celebrated and not just me, they will smell the roses and get the pats on the back that they watch me endure over the years, because I always recognized my real strength and faith in the lord was manifested by my family being able to call me, husband, dad, brother, sister, sister in law, son in law, cousin, and cousin in law, I think you get the picture.  This is really for all of them, and I thank you from the depths of my heart.  God has blessed my wife Jennifer and me so much from her surviving pancreatic cancer to my open heart surgery in the last 4 years.  This is really icing on the cake.

May God Bless each and everyone of you for your hard work and dedication to such an important and noble endeavor.  You make the world a better place by your actions and You make the world a better place by your deeds and You make the world a better place by the examples of leadership, compassion and execution of the right thing to do in our community."

Congratulations to the Family of the Year!!!
