Megan Piphus & Friends
Musical Ventriloquist

At the age of ten years old, Megan Piphus took a liking to the art of ventriloquism. Fascination by the manipulation of the voice into many characters was what convinced her to learn immediately. Her mother acquired instructional videos on ventriloquism from the library and a toy ventriloquist doll, and Megan began learning. No more than two weeks after watching the videos, Megan performed at her school devotional services with her puppet Charlie and later at her church Zion Global Ministries. After a year of mastering her skill, she began competing at the International Festival of Christian Puppetry and Ventriloquism (I-FEST) with the mission of sharing the Bible verse John 3:16 to the world. There, she won a silver medal and three gold medals in musical ventriloquism competitions.
Since then, Megan has served her community by performing at numerous churches, school functions, the YMCA, nursing homes, and communal celebrations around the country. In December of 2007, Megan was recognized as a YMCA Character Award winner for her service to the community. She made an appearance on news channel WCPO advertising the 2007 Character Awards and showed her talent as a ventriloquist. Megan was also selected to entertain the guests at the YMCA awards ceremony.
In November of 2008, Megan was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show: The World’s Smartest and Most Talented Kids, after submitting four videos that showcased her unique skill. WCPO did a special story on Megan after she appeared on the Oprah Show congratulating her. Now a junior at Princeton High School, Megan plans on pursuing a career as a musical ventriloquist sharing a positive message to people of all ages around the world.
She will be performing at Sawyer Point Saturday, August 15 at 3:00pm
She also performs for parties, community events, church events, schools & nursing homes.
